Welcome! I’m Tessa and I’m a Certified Nutrition Consultant and a Certified Health Coach.I have a passion for all things health and wellness, especially for mom’s and children.
I’ve loved learning about food and fitness since high school. My interest back then mainly stayed around reading Shape magazine and tearing out the low-fat recipes and at-home workouts and thinking I was killing my health game.
Health was just a hobby until I was diagnosed with gluten, dairy and soy allergies when I was 21. I had been experiencing extreme fatigue after eating gluten and out of nowhere my entire body broke out in guttate psoriasis. Growing up in an Sicilian/Irish home, I was pretty certain my life had ended – never being able to eat chicken parmigiana or lasagna again?! Forget about it! I had to research extensively to get a thorough understanding of what the heck I could eat. This all was happening before being “Gluten Free” was cool so most places didn’t have allergy friendly options like they do now. Researching was a blessing in disguise and the incredible health world I was exposed to propelled me onto an amazing health journey.
Once I got into the groove of this new, whole foods diet, I felt the best I ever had. I had great energy, my skin cleared up significantly and my PMS improved. I was so amazed by what I learned and experienced first-hand. I went back to school to become a nutritionist and later a health coach! I knew I wanted to help others get back in touch with real food and feeling their best using natural means.
Knowledge is power and I love to learn. I hope by sharing what I know, I inspire women to make positive changes in their life towards a balanced attitude about health.
I am all about balance. Kick those strict diets to the curb, eat real food, and start doing things that make you happy.
My personal goal is to live an aware life. Slow down and think before speaking, doing and purchasing. We vote with our dollars and I want to support companies that care about people. We make choices every day that affect our health and the lives of others. I hope to lessen my impact on the earth and lead a life that gives more than it takes.
I live in sunny San Diego with my husband and son. You can find us outside most days, spending time with friends and family, walking by the beach and trying new fun restaurants.
